NOT SOUR GRAPES

It isn’t sour grapes or fetid after taste
You weren’t the one, not enough grace
Fooled by some wrathful delusion
I almost drowned in worthless decision
In a moment of plain insanity
I tried trampling the better destiny
Fortunate in the pale misfortune
You helped me wonder, in a bitter tune
I learned the test after the distress
Grew stronger in my fallible fortress
Not sour grapes or fetid after taste
I deserve better, a superior celeste.

MY FIFTEENTH BIRTHDAY

Twas a wonderful day, beautiful Sunday,
Sunny and warm, my fifteenth birthday
We loitered around, outside the station
Eating ice creams and pies, in full satisfaction
In the evening we went to a fair
Into the darkness we strolled there

Giant wheels and blinding lights
Card tricks and motorcycle rides
In the corner among a crowd
There he was, calling aloud
He cast his spell, destiny’s devil
Naive and young, innocence’s peril
Three similar cards on a white clothed table
He moved them around, enticing our gamble
Adroit and deft as he played his trick
The different card we had to pick
Neat and simple, seemed child’s play
My eyes lit up, my lucky day!
In a rush of blood, I made my bet
He turned the card the next instant
It had happened, the unthinkable
My monthly saving, now his nickel

In a foolish thought, I vowed fightback
Borrowed a fifty to win mine back
The time was right, all signs precise
I placed my hand, my only choice
The stars bright twinkled in smile
Hundred bucks burned away in style.

SUPERSTAR

Oh mighty warrior, your time has come,
Of glorious triumph, over everyone.
Oh mighty warrior your head fell down,
You won us all, in your mortal crown.
Tears dont explain, theyre incessant,
Youl shine forever, a superstar bright.

YET I RISE

Second class for life
An eternal strife
Bucket loads of grief
Dwindling belief
Never ending search
For life’s worth
Muddled opinions
Powerful confusions
Hopeless future
Lavish torture
Blindfolded eyes
Dark murky skies
Drowned ambitions
Obtuse inclinations
Yet I rise
Yearning sunrise.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT AT THE LUZHNIKI

Wednesday night at the Luzhniki,
Twas Man United versus Chelsea,
European glory and superiority,
History and immortality.

Cristiano leaped to score,
The joy spilled in encore.
Freaky Lampard and his goal,
Shattered the heart and the soul.
Dilly dally and shilly-shally,
Twas down to luck and Penalty.
Tevez scored,Ballack too,
Carrick and Belletti drew.
Cristiano lost in his bargain,
Lampard's luck scored again.
Hargreaves and Cole put it through,
Nani too tightened the screw.
Twas now for Mr Chelsea,
Closer then ever to insanity.
Cheated heart, I had no clue,
Tension around, twas all blue.
Terry blew it, drove it wide,
Anderson scored, we were tied.
Kalou and Giggs ate their pie,
Anelka had to score, balance the tie.

Playing for a cause, the tragedy,
Twas written in the stars,destiny.
VDS was alive,guessed it right,
Red in Moscow,twas United's night.
We had won, the Babes had won,
What a night in their remembrance.

DAVID AND BATHSHEBA

The chariot trembled as the horse leaped,
Beaten down, fallen, his heart was speared.
The battle was fiercer, the war spurred on,
He closed his eyes, his time had come.

In his terrace, alone, King David wandered
After a dreamless sleep, tired and disturbed
Saw the rain drops rush down, among the trees
His mane swayed gently in the dreamy breeze
As he trudged along flowers of sweet perfumed odour
He saw her there, drenched and pure
Ravished eyes remained firmly undeterred
Fixed on her, nothing else mattered
Her face glowed in the orange rays
Aroused his soul, her delightful grace
In all her glory, irresistible, pink
Her slender wonder, burned his lusting
Obdurate rage flamed him feverish
He yearned her lips, to touch every inch
Mortal curse emblazoned her prettier
The Kingdom sank in her enticing splendor

The chariot trembled as the horse leaped
Beaten down, fallen, his heart was speared
The battle was fiercer, the war spurred on
He closed his eyes, his time had come.

THE LEAF

The bird flew as the warm breeze,
Along the way on dark green trees,
As leaves shuddered and broke through,
Amongst the wind, alone they blew.
Each leaf blew, on its own,
Only towards where the wind would turn,
Over the valley, above houses and woods,
The leaf rushed in crass solitude.
The leaf blew as a ravaged soul,
Without purpose and any control.

BULLET IN THE SKY

In the realm of solitude,
Awake in the peace less latitude.
Bleeding soul for control,
For light, for overhaul;

Against fear to overpower,
Against dark obdurate tower,
Against negative flag aflutter,
For servitude of mighty thunder,
Like a bullet in the sky.
